Born and raised in the high plains, Christen Reighter currently attends school in the Texas panhandle. Ever since she was a little girl, she knew she wanted to be a writer; she would compose books, short stories and poems and often read them aloud for her class. Later on, as she learned more of the craft, Christen became more serious about her writing. She completed her first book in the fifth grade—a children’s science fiction—and two years after that began a project that would ultimately become her first novel.
More recently, her interest in art has grown; she indulges in creating abstract art as a creative and emotional release. Christen says: “I love seeing what nothing but a little paint can become. It can start out as a mass of shapeless color and end up as something amazing and true.”
